Stede

 

This beautiful woman is my Stede (Nan), Gregoria Yiasoumi and the inspiration behind Dasaki. She was born in Achna 11th August 1920, and learned how to cook from her mum in the village. She then came to England in December 1946 to raise her family.

Growing up I always remember her being in the kitchen and no matter what time of day you would pop into see her she would be cooking, and would bring out a feast (even if it was only you visiting).

With Dasaki we are hoping to keep her amazing recipes alive for generations to come. By documenting, sharing these recipes and publishing our family cook book, I hope to do her proud.
